THE ROOM

Image
The Room  A family has called it an early night and head upstairs for bed. While they are sleeping, a mini ship descends into their living room and 3 orbs appear. The candles become light as if the orbs want their presence to be known. The families cat is the only one downstairs and notices that something strange is going on. He looks up and notices 3 spherical lights shinning in the dark and just watches. The orbs roam around the room and decide to leave. In the morning while watching the footage from last nights events , the wife is stunned to see something that she can't begin to put into words levitating above the rug.

My Financial journey

My financial journey has been quite the experience. I have learned a lot about myself over the past couple years. When I was younger my father introduced me to money at a very early age. He wanted to teach me what money was and it’s importance. My dad wasn’t really good at saving , my mom on the other hand had a lot of discipline. I didn’t really understand the concept of saving money until I was working on my and bringing in my own income. Whenever I had it , I’d spend it not thinking about the future.  I would create a budget for myself of all the things I wanted and the total it would all be. Every week I would get my nails done, order food, do laundry , go shopping and made sure I paid my phone bill. I would do this every week until the next time I got paid. I was living paycheck to paycheck. It wasn’t until one of my coworkers challenged me to save some money. I had no reason to save but I challenged myself anyway. At the time I was sleeping on a f uton couch   and...

About Me

My name is Angelini Pierre. I was born July 28 th , 1996 at Kings County hospital in     Brooklyn,NY. My family is from Haiti.     I’d like to consider my family as dysfunctionally     working humans. We love each other but it isn’t really shown much. I wish it was shown a lot    more though. I come from a very strict household. I didn’t get to go outside and have fun like  the  “normal” kid. I stayed inside a lot of my childhood helping my parents figure things out like     finances and filing out A LOT of paper work , as well helping my 3 younger brothers do    homework. My biggest accomplishment was leaving my parents house when I got my first job    and turned 18 years old. It was a moment I would never forget. Finally, freedom was ahead for    me. Little did I know, I lacked so much because I was so sheltered. I failed at the concept of    communication. See, growing up ...

COVID and Mental Health

Did you know that COVID 19 can affect your mental health ? I didn’t. Back in March 2020 my fiancé and I had the virus. We never got tested by the way but it wasn’t hard to tell that we had. In the beginning of the year we took ALOT of trips outside. Experiencing things we’ve never experienced before. After all the fun was done. We got sick.     It was just me at first, I had a really bad cough that I couldn’t shake for about 2-3 months. It was so bad, I felt like I had mucus in my chest. My fiancé got sick but his symptoms were very different compared to mine. He lost his appetite and was always cold. Sometimes I would find him shaking in bed even when he had blankets on. His symptoms scared me. I’ve never seen him like this before. All I could do was give him Gatorade’s and water. His stomach couldn’t tolerate anything else. Not even soups. I hated seeing him like this. As the days went on he started losing a lot of weight. As I was helping him try and get better I was notici...

Starting my fitness journey all over again

Image
Growing up I've always been relatively small in weight to the point my dad would always tell me that i need to eat more and my mom would say I don't eat because I'm trying to stay "sexy". My parents are from Haiti by the way. If you know then you know. In their culture being a skinny was a bad thing. I never really thought about my weight being an issue to me because I thought I looked okay. I was in my teenage years and I was very active as far as physical exercise. Some might say I had an athlete build. I was ranging from anywhere to 135 lbs to 145 lbs, I always wore a size small in shirts and a size 4 or 6 in pants.  My weight never went past that range until I turned 19 when I started eating more because I was introduced to a different palette. For the first time every my weight went up to 165 lbs I was happy being in that range because my clothes fit differently. I was filling out the gaps that I previously had. I started wearing Mediums in shirts and could w...

My Cooking Journey During COVID-19

Image
March 2020, The beginning of my food adventure. Growing up i wasn’t to keen on cooking but ENJOYED watching cooking competition. I know what you’re thinking if you enjoy watching the show then you should enjoy actually doing it ? Right ? Well no , i actually hated cooking until quarantine started I only cooked because I had to feed my daughter. Quick and easy meals were my go to. Hoping they were seasoned enough to have some sort of flavor. Covid-19 changed that for me. Because we were stuck in the house on lock down, I had no choice but to try and learn something new. I choose to learn how to cook and bring different things to the table, literally. My household was use to eating the same things every week. The meals became boring because I knew exactly what we were having every week. I decided to challenge myself by introducing new things to our palette. My goal was to learn how to make great tasting food that would feed the soul. My first meal attempt to this challenge was making ...
